We have just bought this wonderful recipe book from Lily's Kitchen who do a range of tinned organic wholesome dog & cat foods, treats and biscuits. The Pugs absolutely love their range and always have the bedtime biscuits at night after last toilets.
This book is full of the most delicious recipes for dogs, including nutrition advice on feeding, recipes for poorly dogs and older dogs and a list of not what to feed your dog. I was horrified when I realised just what went into ordinary mass produced tinned dog food. The Lily's Kitchen range is just full of wholesome and organic ingredients with no nasties.
I have just cooked them the rice and meat for dinner today...with four very impatient Pugs waiting for it to cool!
The meatloaf (now devoured) before it was cooked.
The Chicken and Rice balls (also devoured). These lovely and simple recipes are a pleasure to make.
The cheesy breakfast slices, a bit like doggy flapjacks.
Four very satisfied customers.
Have a great week everyone and I will post about PJ's progress on the trial.

Looks like a great book. Thanks

ReplyDeleteHi Jo, thought you might be interested in these 2 web sites re dog food. I've been trying to switch my 2 cats to a species specific diet as I think it will have a massive effect on their health and longevity but it's hard work! I often wonder if it would be so hard with dogs!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great site for all things pet health/food related:

This company sells species specific food for cats and dogs delivered frozen to your door.

Unfortunately the same holds true for us humans if you want good healthy food - buy whole food and prepare it yourself its the only way of knowing what you are actually eating.
I think I'll come back as a pug in my next life and come and live with you.
