Early 19th Century Harp

Hubby and I have been after a full size harp for many years and have never found one.

Then out of the blue this beauty turned up!

We have been looking for years and we can't believe it.  The harp is early nineteenth century and is in need of extensive restoration to get it back to playing condition...which incidentally neither of us can do!

We have contacted a harp restorer in Wales so it will be heading to his workshop soon to see what needs doing and more importantly how much??

Looks like some harp lessons may be the order of the day.

Or this rather lovely man can come over and pluck my strings any day...ooer missus.
Have a great week.

  4. I can just see Andy sitting with the harp in between his knees plucking delicately at the strings. It is great when something that you have been looking for for a long comes from unexpected places.

Good to see you get a mention in the latest Pretty Nostalgic.

    Have a great 2013.

  11. I just found your blog whilst looking for images of pedal harps and your story reads so much like my own. I too just found the harp of my dreams after looking for one I could afford after many many years. And mine too needs quite a bit of restoration.....AND I don't play the harp either *winks* Your harp is lovely! Congratulations on acquiring such a dream piece. Vanna
