Congratulations to the Happy Couple

Our street was suitably decorated for the Royal Wedding, and what a beautiful day it turned out to be.

Our village is also laying on all day festivities to celebrate the happy event. The wedding was very moving and the dress was gorgeous. We have all decided we are very proud to be British, and occasions like this really bring out the best in British spirit.  Many congratulations to William and Catherine, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

I do love an excuse to get my vintage Union Jacks out!!  See you tomorrow at the Cheese and Grain in Frome for the original Vintage Bazaar.

  2. It was such a perfect wedding ... I loved the dress, she looked utterly beautiful. Not wanting to sound like my mother but I am so pleased we now have a decent role model for young girls.

Your cottage looks fantastic - I chickened out and hung my big flag indoors as it's all very reserved in my street!

  8. Hello Jo - I met you at Harrogate a couple of years ago. I think the same people who organised that event were responsible for a new 'do' at York racecourse yesterday. It was fantastic and I wondered if you were there but oyu weren't!! I think they will be pleased with the way the event went - it was very very busy and when I got in the door I felt sick with excitement. I bought a beautiful 40's style hat from a lady who makes them, and a fur stole to wear for the Pickering War weekend - I am determined to get there in style this year. I am going for the look of a well upholstered middle aged doctors wife with a wicker basket, gloves and sensible shoes!! ( I am not one in real life!!) though I am well upholstered! Wondered if you are doing the Vintage do at Matlock?
