Hope you are all having a lovely weekend, the weather is absolutely gorgeous. Andy is busy doing his Percy Thrower bit and building two raised beds for the veggie plot and I have been busy treasure hunting.
The conservatory looks a bit like a jumble sale at the moment.
A rather lovely old bicycle basket in really good condition.
Yet more baskets!! A lovely vintage picnic basket and a fishing creel, and some rather sweet vintage clip on lampshades....I would love to re cover them in vintage eiderdown fabric but haven't a clue where to start?
Two rather gorgeous vintage flags, perfect for the Royal Wedding celebrations.
A beautiful early 20th Century chain mail evening purse lined with very soft leather and in lovely condition.
A collection of unfinished embroideries.
A gorgeous vintage deck chair striped door curtain with it's original tie back.
This is a beautiful length of vintage flag fabric originally intended to be used around a podium I think? I bought it at the Vintage and Handmade (sorry I can't remember who from). It has British made stamped on it and we are trying to think up a use for it.
Our final purchase at our local car boot was this rather gorgeous original ships lantern which is eventually going in the porch when a certain Percy Thrower has time to wire it in!!
Hope you are all having a lovely weekend and enjoying this beautiful weather.
Great finds Jo, I can't believe you find so many flags. My Percy Thrower is also in the back garden building a raised bed for vegetables ! He has painted the wood in a lovely green and is putting it together as we speak. I shall go outside now and tell him about Andy.

You certainly do find some great items, nothing like that down here in the south. Gorgeous weekend here too, we are building a large 'shed' in the garden but I've come indoors out of the sun!

Wow bless Betty i lost my dear old friend Betty next sunday 5 years ago so this little bit of your news made me have a little lump in my throat plus the Elvis record playing in the background ;-) Lovely finds to. have a great week, dee x
ReplyDeleteHello Betty - nice to know that you have decided to stay!
ReplyDeleteI know that you will enjoy life in your new home, they are nutty as fruit cakes!! xx
I could do with the bicycle basket as I ride with a tesco bag dangling from the handlebars. When I collect eggs from my friends house, half of them are cracked by the time I have got home!
ReplyDeleteSo glad Betty has joined your family of Pugs (sounds like a pop group.. "Betty and the Pugs") am sure she will be very happy in her new home. Abby x
Aaaawww, a big huggy welcome to Betty :o)
ReplyDeleteLovely, lovely finds Jo. I do like that lantern.
Have a lovely week. x
Great treasures - well done! I've been asked to do the window display in the shop for the Royal Wedding - a flag would be a wonderful background. I shall email you and see if you're selling / how much! Abby x

I have a jumble sale spare bedroom very similar to your Conservatory.....
ReplyDeleteA mad dash to clear it of "rubbish"(stock) if anyone comes to stay, which thankfully is a rare occurrence!
Glad little Betty is staying and settling in well....

You always find such lovely things. I have been thinking of recovering some lampshades with some CK fabric. I have been trying to find glue that is fire retardent, but not had much luck yet. The few tutorials I have looked at on the internet dont look as though the glue would be safe so I am abit unsure myself. Your lampshades look like a pair of Laura Ashley ones that I have and would like to cover but with them being pleated I dont quite know how to go about it so I have bought some cheap plain flat ones to have a practice on first (If I find the correct adhesive).
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely Easter weekend X
P.S There is a glass of Pimms with your name on it if you happen to stroll by these parts HEE HEE! X
Hi jo, have just emailed you.. please let me know asap! lizzie xxxx
