Pinkie

Today we lost Pinkie.  her seizures had been steadily worsening all week so we made the hardest decision.  We are all devastated.

Poorly Pinkie

Apologies for my rather long absence, I do hope you all enjoyed the Jubilee weekend?  We had a lovely time including a ride on a steam train which I will blog about soon.  This weekend however has been one we would rather forget!

Pinkie one of our youngest Pugs has been diagnosed with epilepsy.  She started having seizures on Friday night and we rushed her to the vets.  Thankfully we live only 40 minutes away from Pride Specialist Veterinary hospital in Derby and to cut a long story short, she has been in there for the past three days and nights.  After a very worrying weekend the vet looking after her has just phoned me to say that it is epilepsy. We are relieved somewhat which sounds terrible as the other two options that we were told it might be were too terrible to even contemplate! So hopefully she will stabilise on medication and we can bring her home tomorrow.  I cannot begin to imagine how parents cope with a child with epilepsy as it is very distressing to see a dog having seizures let alone your child.  Even though I have nursed people with epilepsy and witnessed seizures in humans  it is still a shocking experience.  We are looking forward to having her home as it is strange with just four naughty Pugs!
